Training Requirements

The training for nursing assistants provide you with all the knowledge and skills you need in order to be successful in your field of study. You will gain knowledge on how to perform the duties and responsibilities of a nursing assistant. The course will train you how to perform these duties in a safety way for both your patients and for you. You will learn how to communicate and mingle well with patients together with coworkers.

CNA Training and Certification in Maine

In the State of Maine, the Department of Education approved dozens of official CNA training programs, while the Department of Health and Human Resources maintains the Maine CNA Registry (which lists all nurse aides legally certified to work in Maine).

CNA Maine Certification Requirements

In order to legally be able to work in nursing homes and long-term care facilities throughout the state, individuals must be placed upon the Maine CNA Registry. In order to accomplish this, students must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Complete a state-approved CNA ME certification program
  • Pass the state's CNA competency examination (which contains both a skills component and a written component)
  • Pass a criminal history background check

CNA Training and Certification in Massachusetts

You can begin a career working as a certified nursing assistant in the state of Massachusetts by training or an application for reciprocity. CNAs work in nursing care facilities and other healthcare facilities. They can earn up to $15 per hour. Some nursing assistants have higher rates depending on their skills, years on the job and area where they work.

Training Requirements

You cannot sit for the nursing assistant certification without enrolling in and completing a nursing assistant certification course. A training program must be approved by the Office of Health and Human Services. If it is not, then completion of the course will not qualify you to sit for the nursing assistant certification exam.

Training certification for CNAs in Massachusetts must have at least seventy-five hours. If the training classes do not reach 75 hours, then you will not entitled for a certification for not meeting state or federal regulations.
